I've had a look at one of his books on 1813 and was very impressed. He's written three books on the 1814 period. Are there any overlaps or recommendations on which to buy?

Crucible of Fire : The Battle of Lundy's Lane, July 25, 1814

Ashes of War : The Fight for Upper Canada, August 1814-March 1815

The Tide of War : The 1814 Invasions of Upper Canada

All five books are excellent and of good value.

There are six books in the Upper Canada Preserved seies on the War of 1812

1st Book The Call to Arms: The 1812 Invasions of Upper Canada

2nd Book: The Pendulum of War The Fight for Upper Canada January – June 1813

3rd Book The Flames of War : The Fight for Upper Canada, july December 1813

4th Book The Tide of War covers the 1814 invasions of Upper Canada

5th BookThe Battle for Lund's Lane on June 25,1814 and the events leading up tp and following the battle.

6th Book: The Ashes of War covers the closing stages of the War in the Nortern Frontier from Ft Erie It also covers possible plans for 1815 and the impact the war had on all the participants.

Richard has an independent book that is not part of the series
Redcoated Ploughboys: The Volunteer Battalion of Incorpoated Militia of Upper Canada 1813-1815

Some of these books may be hard to find as they date back to 2012. Some sources are also asking for premium prices. A Canadian Source is Dundurn Press . Check out other sed book dealers and Amazon. Amazon has a kindle version that may be an alternative

I met Richard at the 200th anniversary re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek. I picked up all 6 books in the series as well Redcoated Ploughboys: The Volunteer Battalion of Incorpoated Militia of Upper Canada 1813-1815. All have been signed by him and are in mint conditio. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to read them yet!!
