…and Other Historical Catastrophes? "e most dangerous place on Earth. The past is when the deadliest predators ever seen roamed the planet. It's when hellacious climates and natural disasters of unimaginable scale swept across Earth. Then humans evolved, and the perils became even worse. People sparked pandemics, wars and economic catastrophes far more extreme than those we experience today.

I mean, I could. My ancestors did. Most of the survival for the events listed had to do with whether or not you were in the "hot zone", or whatever you want to call it. If you were, you very probably die. If not, you didn't die from that. Most of it is random chance. The odds are more a function of where you draw the circle, rather than the effects of the event. For example, if you look at London during the first Black Death resurgence, you might see a 50% mortality rate. But if you look at England, you might see something like 20%. Europe, something like a little less than 2%. I'm not aware of any Black Death fatalities among the Great Lakes tribes in the mid-1300's. |

Nah. My wife would get into a fix trying to protect or find food for the cats, and then I'd be in a fix trying to protect her, then someone disreputable would decide to make off with my bar supplies, so we'd be offed for it. Wouldn't survive the apocalypse long I'm afraid. |
